Join us for our newest summer camp, the Wise and Wonderful Week!
This is a camp for those of us with a few or a lot of grey hairs. A chance to rest and relax and enjoy all that Camp has to offer. Catch up with old friends and make new friends, some of you have been a part of the fellowship of Koinonia for many years and others are just joining us for the first time but all are welcome this week providing they are over the age of 55.
This camp is quickly becoming a new tradition at Koinonia, one not to be missed!
*Wise and Wonderful has been reduced by 1 day this year to accommodate our 75th anniversary celebration.
Director: Benita Black
Benita has had the honour of being connected to Camp for fifty years as a Family Camper, baby-sitter dishwasher, Teens’ Camper, head cook, Womens’ Weekend Camper and Speaker and hopes to be here for another fifty! She lives in Toronto, and is the mother to four grown (and MOSTLY flown) children. These days she keeps company with her dog, Moose Tracks the Mutt, enjoys puttering in her little garden, and considers cooking, eating and sharing food among her favourite activities.
Speaker: Peter Kennedy
Peter Tufford Kennedy is a theologically trained artist with a Masters in theology from Wycliffe College, Toronto. Some of his 25 year career highlights are sharing the screen with Oscar winners Viola Davis, Reese Witherspoon, Christian Bale, and Jared Leto; starring in musical theatre; being a recurring character on the Canadian Cultural juggernaut Degrassi as ‘Bullfrog’, and having co-starred in one of the episodes nominated for an Emmy in 2013. He has been a principal actor in over 70 television commercials seen all around the world.
Continually thirsting for understanding the human condition to better inform his performances, he also writes for film and TV; has written, performed and produced sketch and improvisational comedy with some of Canada’s best comedians; been a PA, parish evangelist, producer, director, stage-manager, camp counsellor, VBS director, bartender in Paris France, a construction worker, and a Naval Signalman in the Canadian military. He currently has four children with his 1st wife… with whom he still lives… happily
